“An integral aspect of our work will be focussing on your current concerns and its impact on your day-to-day life.”
You may be wondering what counselling is all about and how to choose the right therapist for yourself. There are many different approaches to therapy and I hope that by sharing mine you will get a taste for what I offer and a feeling for whether it resonates with you.
As a committed, professional therapeutic counsellor, your mental well-being is my main priority. I work as an integrative therapist, drawing on different approaches, tailoring our sessions according to what best suits you as a person. I have trained in a variety of theories including person-centred, psychodynamic and transpersonal approaches to offer you ways to safely explore your past to understand your particular ways of managing and relating in the present so that you can move forward with your life.
An integral aspect of our work will be focussing on your current concerns and its impact on your day-to-day life. Whilst I am led by what you would like to gain from our time together, I take a dynamic approach to therapeutic intervention so that our work together offers opportunities to challenge and shed previously unseen light on what’s happening for you so that the work can facilitate change and find new levels of understanding and freedom.
The key lies in finding shared care and self-compassion needed for you to feel safely supported to explore your inner world when you feel overwhelmed, fearful, anxious, depressed and bewildered. Ultimately my aim is for you to feel life is back on track and you are strong enough to face its challenges.
Most importantly, I see therapy as the work that happens in the relationship between us. I bring warmth, honesty, integrity, compassion and openness to my work and hope that you will feel encouraged to do the same.
I am humbled by the trust you place in me and the courage and self-determination you are displaying by embarking on this intricate work and sharing it with me.
